CUNLIFFE-LISTERThe. number of wage-earners employed in and about coal mines in Fifeshire was 26,431 at the end of April, 1926, and 21,374 at the end of February, 1927. 906 men were formerly employed at pits in the county which have closed since 1st May, 1926, and 63 men are at present employed at pits which have opened or re-opened since that date.
