HC Deb 28 March 1927 vol 204 c840
13. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY (for Colonel WEDGW00D)

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has considered the construction of a railway line from Port Fuad to join the main Palestine railway; what the estimated cost will be; and whether he can obtain the consent of the Egyptian Government to goods and passengers entering Palestine by this route direct from Europe without Egyptian sanitary and customs charges and examinations?

Mr. AMERY

There is no present intention of constructing such a railway line; the remainder of the question therefore does not arise.
