asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the total amount assessed for Income Tax in Great Britain For the year 1925–26, and the amount assessed as earned, unearned and Supertax, respectively?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The total amount of actual income assessed to Income Tax in Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the year 1925–26 is estimated at £2,375 millions, of which about £1,300 millions is earned income, The income liable to Super-tax for the year 1925–26 is provisionally estimated at about £558 millions.
