HC Deb 17 March 1927 vol 203 c2183
39. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Minister of Health whether he can give the number of blind persons, including children, in the United Kingdom?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

As regards England and Wales, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on this subject, on the 10th instant, to the hon. Member for Wednesbury. Any question affecting Scotland should be addressed to the Secretary of State for Scotland, or affecting Northern Ireland to the Home Secretary.

Mr. SHEPHERD

What proportion of these eases are due to War service?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I cannot say. If the hon. Member will put down a question, I will see whether the information can be obtained.

Mr. MORRISON

Do the figures include children?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I think they include all persons.
