HC Deb 16 March 1927 vol 203 c1987
19. Colonel DAY

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether his attention has been drawn to the danger to ships entering and leaving Dover Harbour on account of the block ship "Gantry"; and what action has been taken with a view to the removal of this danger to navigation?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Bridgeman)

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the statements made in answer to questions on this subject OH 21st April last (OFFICIAL REPORT, cols. 1194–5). Parliament has now given the Dover Harbour Board the powers they asked for, and I understand they are about to exercise them.

Colonel DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when this work will be commenced?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

No, Sir; it is a matter for the Dover Harbour Board.
