HC Deb 09 March 1927 vol 203 cc1207-8
19. Sir WALTER de FRECE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the circumstances of all the British concessions in China from the point of view of their retrocession to China are similar; and, if not, will he state in detail what the differences are?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

While the circumstances of all British concessions in China are on the whole fundamentally similar, from the point of view of their retrocession to China various differences arise in respect of their locality, population, development and general importance. In view of the fact that negotiations regarding the future of the concessions are in progress, I do not consider it would be desirable to state the differences in detail.
