HC Deb 01 March 1927 vol 203 cc195-6
22. Sir ROBERT HUTCHISON

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Local Taxation, he will consider the desirability of introducing to Parliament at an early date legislation to amend the present law and practice with respect to the valuing of waterworks and other public undertakings; so as to remove the anomalies and inequities which at present prevail?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The position of waterworks and other public undertakings will be considered in connection with any legislation which may be introduced amending the Valuation Acts. I regret I am unable to give any undertaking with regard to the introduction of such legislation.
