§ W. MITCHELL-THOMSONThe estimated expenditure on the development of the telephone system for the current financial year (1927–28) is about £12,000,000. The figures for 1926–27 and 1925–26 were £10,611,000 and £11,902,000, respectively. The expenditure in 1926–27 would have been greater but for the coal stoppage.
