§ 32. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Secretary of State for Air whether the Persian Government has now agreed to British commercial aeroplanes 1839 flying over its territory on their journeys between Egypt and India; and whether the Cairo-Karachi air service has been resumed?
§ Sir P. SASSOONThe answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, there is nothing to add to the reply which, was given to the hon. and gallant Member on 25th May.
§ Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYCould the hon. Baronet inform me what steps have been taken to raise this matter with the Persian Government, and if it is being pressed by our representatives?
§ Sir P. SASSOONYes Sir, it is being pressed by our representatives in the ordinary official manner. We are pressing it as much as we can, because the delay is a serious one, and meanwhile we are exploring other possible routes.
