§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDDuring the five weeks ended 13th June, 1927, 1834 11,188 applications for extended benefit by men, and 1,790 by women, were considered by local employment committees in the Glasgow area. Of these numbers, 2,465 of the applications by men, and 683 of the applications by women, were recommended for disallowance. Corresponding statistics in respect of applications for standard benefit are not available.
