§ 30. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Secretary for Air whether it is intended to present an episode at the annual Air Force display at Hendon of aircraft in action and the bombing of buildings, etc., and the firing at native ground forces; and, if so, whether the presentation of this scene or similar scenes can be reconsidered in view of its probable effect on public opinion in this country and abroad?
§ Sir P. SASSOONThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I do not share the hon. and gallant Mem- 1001 ber's fears in regard to the probable effect, on public opinion of the presentation of a wholly imaginary scene of this kind.
§ Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYDoes not the Under-Secretary see that it is rather out of place, when we are trying to bring about peace at Geneva, that we should have this mimic warfare represented to the people of this country?
§ Mr. E. BROWNWhat about the naval manœuvres?
