HC Deb 13 June 1927 vol 207 cc664-5
23. Captain FRASER

asked the Minister of Health if, in view of the fact that ex-service men who are new entrant voluntary contributors under the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act, 1925, must be regarded as subject to a reduction of sickness and disablement benefit while in receipt of a 100 per cent. pension or allowances unless they have satisfied the requalification conditions of Section 60 (1), provision (1) and (2), of the National Health Insurance Act of 1924 during their previous period of insurance, he will undertake that an amendment of the Law will be made forthwith in order to relieve approved societies of the penalties arising from overpayment which they have in good faith already made?

Sir K. WOOD

It is intended to include in the amending Health Insurance Bill arising out of the Report of the Royal Commission provision to meet the difficulty to which the hon. and gallant Member calls attention.

Mr. R. MORRISON

When is the Bill likely to be introduced?

Sir K. WOOD

I cannot say.
