HC Deb 02 June 1927 vol 207 c534
33. Mr. WELLS

asked the Minister or Agriculture if he will obtain a Report from the Ouse Drainage Board as to the present conditions of the river and banks in the area for which it is responsible, and as to whether there is any immediate danger of inundation and the return of the whole area to primeval conditions?

Major Sir HARRY BARNSTON (Comptroller of the Household)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend does not consider that there has been any change in the situation since the Ouse Commission reported, which would make a further report necessary, but it will be open to parties interested who hold a contrary view to state their ease when the Ouse Drainage Bill is before the Select Committee.

Mr. WELLS

Is not this body responsible for this area?
