Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Waltonon-Thames and Weybridge Gas Company, which was presented on the 11th July and published, be approved.

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Mayor, Aldermen, and Burgesses of the borough of Conway, which was presented on the 11th July and published, be approved.

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Portsmouth Gas Company, which was presented on the 11th July and published, be approved.

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Wellington (Somerset) Gas Company, which was presented on the 11th July and published, be approved.

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Bolsover Gaslight and Coke Company, Limited, which was presented on the 4th July and published, be approved, subject to the following modifications:

In Clause 11, after Sub-Clause (1), insert, — Provided that it shall not be lawful for the company to carry forward at the end of any year to the credit of the said account any sum exceeding the total of the following amounts (that is to say):—

  1. (a) The amount required by the company for paying any dividend or interest which the company are entitled or required to pay on their capital in respect of the undertaking but have not paid in respect of that year;
  2. (b) An amount equal to the total sum which the company would be lawfully entitled to distribute as dividends on such capital in respect of the next following year, having regard to the price charged by them for gas at the commencement of that year; and
  3. (c) An amount equal to the total sum which the company will be required to pay during the next following year as interest on any mortgages or debenture stock secured on the undertaking.

In Clause 11, omit the proviso to Sub-Clause (2). "

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the East Hull Gas Company, which was presented on the 8th July and published, be approved, subject to the following modification:

Insert, after the words 'Provided that, ' in line 12 of Clause 6, the words: '(a) Notwithstanding anything in this Section the price so charged shall not exceed nineteen decimal four pence per therm nor three decimal two pence per therm above the maximum price from time to time in force within the portion of the limits of supply within the City of Kingston-upon-Hull; and (b). '

Resolved, That the draft of a Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Urban District Council of Colwyn Bay, which was presented on the 11th July and published, be approved. "—[Sir B. Chadwick. ]
