HC Deb 26 July 1927 vol 209 cc1019-20
46. Mr. LOOKER

asked the Chancellor of the Excheuqer whether he is in a position to state the result of the negotiations which have recently taken place with representatives of the islands of Jersey and Guernsey on the subject of measures to prevent the avoidance of British taxation in the islands?

Mr. McNEILL

Mc right hon. Friend is glad to say that, though various details remain to be worked out, agreement on all essential points was reached during these discussions. He hopes, therefore, to be in a position to place definite proposals before the House next year, as was foreshadowed in his Budget Speech.
