HC Deb 25 July 1927 vol 209 c835
37. Mr. H. WILLIAMS

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is in a position to announce his decision on the Report of the Standing Committee under the Merchandise Marks Act on iron and steel, gold and silver leaf, and woven labels?

Sir B. CHADWICK

My right hon. Friend has accepted the recommendations made in the Reports of the Committee to which my hon. Friend refers, and on Wednesday last he laid before this House a draft Order-in-Council which has been framed to give effect to them.

Mr. HARRIS

Will the House have an opportunity of discussing this draft Order under the Merchandise Marks Act?

Sir B. CHADWICK

The Order lies on the Table of the House for 20 Parliamentary days.

Mr. HARRIS

Shall we have an opportunity of discussing it next Session?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I cannot say. Under the Act the Order is laid on the Table of the House.
