HC Deb 21 July 1927 vol 209 cc541-2
1. Viscount SANDON

asked the Minister of Pensions if he can give the results of the conferences between both himself and his Department and representatives of the British Empire Services League?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Major Tryon)

Representatives of the British Empire Service League discussed with me various matters relating to pensioners resident in the Dominions, and gave me the opportunity of explaining the position of my Department in regard to them. Subsequently, certain members of the Deputation had interviews with officers of the Department on various details of procedure. As a result of these discussions, some difficulties have been removed, and a few improvements have been made, for instance, in the procedure for appeals to the Pensions Appeal Tribunals by pensioners resident overseas. The members concerned intimated that these interviews had been very helpful to them, and they were also of real benefit to my Department.
