HC Deb 20 July 1927 vol 209 cc379-80
1. Mr. HARRIS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether China is still represented on the League of Nations; and, if so, who is the acting delegate?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir Austen Chamberlain)

As was stated in the reply given to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Dulwich (Sir F. Hall) on the 27th of June last, China has been represented on the Council of the League of Nations by Mr. Chu. I understand that Mr. Chu has now resigned his appointment and left his post; I have no information as to the appointment of his successor.

Sir FREDRIC WISE

Has China paid her quota to the League of Nations expenses?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

She is in arrear for a considerable time.
