HC Deb 18 July 1927 vol 209 cc7-8
17. Lieut.-Colonel WINBY

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Report by the experts appointed to consider railway construction in East Africa has now been made; and whether he is in a position to make any statement on the matter of the bridge over the Zambesi River?

Mr. AMERY

I would refer to the reply given to a similar question on 13th June. I am not yet in a position to make any statement on the matter of a bridge over the Zambesi.

Lieut.-Colonel WINBY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when he will be in a position to do so?

Mr. AMERY

The matter requires a good deal of consideration. Naturally, am as anxious to push it forward as anyone else.
