Amendment made: In page 17, line 5, at the end, insert the words and Sub-section (1) of Section eighty-four of the Income Tax Act, 1918. shall have effect as if—

  1. (a) the words 'for any year of assessment' were omitted;
  2. (b) for the words 'on or before the thirty-first day of May' there were substituted the words within two months after the date at which a vacancy has occurred';
  3. (c) the words 'for that year and for every subsequent year' were omitted."—[Mr. Churchill.]
