asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether anyone has yet been arrested in connection with the murder of Mrs. Ellis, alleged to have been carried out by a Kohat gang, and the abduction a few years ago of Miss Ellis; if so, whether any such arrested person has yet been put on trial; and where and with what result?

One members of the gang believed to be implicated was arrested in Peshawar on the 9th May last, and tried at Kohat on the 29th May. He was found guilty of complicity in the murder of Mrs. Ellis, and executed. Three of the four remaining members of the gang were deported to Afghan Turkestan by the Afghan Government early in 1924.
