§ Mr. BETTERTONThe available information concerning unemployment in France and Germany is summarised in the June number of "The Ministry of Labour Gazette," a copy of which I am sending the hon. Member. As regards Italy, 259,059 persons were officially recorded as unemployed in all industrial groups, including agriculture, at 28th February last (the latest date for which I have information), of whom 152,838 are included under the groups of manufacturing industries; but I am not able to say whether these figures represent the total numbers of unemployed.
