asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of civil servants, including part-time and unestablished employés and clerks, employed by His Majesty's Government in the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise Departments, including the staffs of the Commissioners and Special Commissioners for Income Tax and Super-tax in April, 1925, 1926, and 1927, respectively, and the cost of their salaries in the same three years?

The total number of person employed, including industrial staffs and staffs engaged on reserved service in Northern Ireland, was as follows:
