HC Deb 12 July 1927 vol 208 c1925
16. Mr. LIVINGSTONE

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects the new and better boat to take duty on the Stornaway mail service?

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL for SCOTLAND

The building of a new boat of the kind contemplated would, I understand, take nearly a year. Pending the result of the negotiations to which I have referred in an earlier reply it is not possible to make a definite statement as to when a new boat will be available for the service. I understand however that plans and specifications are being drawn up.

Mr. LIVINGSTONE

Will the Government try to expedite the production of this boat?

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL for SCOTLAND

Yes, Sir.
