§ 48. Sir ROBERT GOWERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if there is any prospect of the Hungarian-Rumanian question now before the League of Nations, and committed to him with the Japanese and Chilian representatives for inquiry, being reported upon to the Council at its next session; if not, what is the cause of the delay; and, if there is any difficulty in the presentation of a Report, whether steps will be taken to submit the matter forthwith to the Permanent Court of International Justice?
Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONThe Committee over which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State presided thought it necessary that further time should be given for the representatives of both States to consult their Governments, and they therefore advised an adjournment until September. The Council approved their proposal, and the committee will make a further Report in September. It would be improper, as it is in fact impossible, to say what that Report is likely to contain.
