I beg to move, in page 16, line 22, after the word "contract," to insert the words (other than simple interest charged in accordance with the proviso to section six of this Act). Hon. Members will realise that this Amendment is complementary to and partially consequential on the Amendment moved on Clause 6 which the House has already accepted. It would be quite unfair to include simple interest on overdue amounts in the total amount in calculating the rate of interest for purposes of this Act.
