HC Deb 24 February 1927 vol 202 c1909
47. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the short time available on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for Private Members' Motions, he will recommend to the House an alteration of Standing Orders which would prohibit any Division on Government Business being begun after 8.15 on either of these two nights?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The Government fully recognise the hardship of curtailing Private Members' time, and will do all they can to avoid such Divisions taking place immediately before the interruption of Government Business on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. As at present advised, the Government do not propose to suggest any alteration of the Standing Orders.
