HC Deb 16 February 1927 vol 202 c900
13. Viscount SANDON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the League of Nations disarmament conference will discuss all questions of limitation of armaments before negotiations are entered into independently by the Government with any foreign Powers?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

I presume that my Noble Friend's question arises out of the communication received last Thursday from the Government of the United States. I am unable at present to make any statement on the subject.

Viscount SANDON

Is it not a question as to whether we have faith in the League of Nations or not?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

I have said that I am at present unable to make any statement on the subject, and I must adhere to that answer.

14. Mr. DALTON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government have yet decided what concrete proposals for disarmament it will lay before the forthcoming Disarmament Conference on behalf of Great Britain?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

No, Sir. The time has not yet come for a final decision.
