HC Deb 14 February 1927 vol 202 c539
62. Mr. RENNIE SMITH

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can give the numbers of men in each fighting service which have been despatched to China, and the details of warships, armoured cars and aeroplanes, etc., which have accompanied them?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I have nothing to add to the reply given by the Prime Minister on the 10th of February to the hon. Member for Bow and Bromley.

Mr. SMITH

Will the hon. Gentleman say whether, in the case of aeroplanes, for example, they are intended to be used purely for observation purposes or for bombing?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

It was made quite clear by the Prime Minister that it was not in the public interest to disclose these details.

Mr. HARRIS

Will there be a Supplementary Estimate?

Mr. SPEAKER

That question has been dealt with in the hon. Member s absence.
