asked the Prime Minister whether any legislation is to be introduced in this Session of Parliament to establish a 48-hour working week in accordance with the terms of the Washington Convention?

I have been asked to reply. I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this subject.

Mr. TAYLOR

May we take it that the Government intend to deal with this question before their term of office expires?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

The hon. Member is not to take anything except what I gave in my answer, that I any not in a position to make any statement. The matter is under consideration.
