HC Deb 20 December 1927 vol 212 c205
30. Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Minister of Pensions the number of parents aged 65 or over whose need pensions, granted in respect of sons killed in the Great War, will be reduced in the first week of January, 1928, following the grant of pension under the Widows', Orphans', and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act; and what is the estimated saving?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of PENSIONS (Lieut.-Colonel Stanley)

I regret that I am not in possession of the complete information necessary to enable me to answer the first part of the question. With regard to the last part of the question, I would point out that there will be no net saving to public funds, but probably some addition to the aggregate charge in this class of case.
