HC Deb 20 December 1927 vol 212 c223
65. Mr. GRIFFITHS

asked the Minister of Health the total number of children under 14 in Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Sir K. WOOD

The estimated number of children in England and Wales under 14 years at mid-year 1926 is 9,366,000. With regard to Scotland and Northern Ireland, the hon. Member should address his inquiry to the Secretary of State for Scotland, and the Home Secretary, respectively.

66. Mr. GRIFFITHS

asked the Minister of Health the number of deaths in Great Britain in 1925 and 1926, showing the numbers who died under 14 years of age, at 14 and 15, at 16 to 20, and at 21 and over?

Sir K. WOOD

I would refer the hon. Member to Table 15 of the Registrar-General's Annual Statistical Review—Part I—Medical, published by His Majesty's Stationery Office. With regard to Scotland, the hon. Member should address his inquiry to the Secretary of State for Scotland.

Mr. GRIFFITHS

Does the hon. Gentleman expect me to pay for these statistics? I want the information from his Department.

Sir K. WOOD

I will try to help the hon. Member. I will make inquiries.
