HC Deb 19 December 1927 vol 212 c15
31. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Minister of Health whether his Department has been in recent consultation with the London County Council and the Tottenham Urban District Council in regard to the long-standing dispute between these two bodies concerning the inclusive collection of rent and rates upon the London County Council White Hart Lane Estate; whether his Department has suggested terms of settlement; and can he say whether there is any prospect of an early decision?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

My right hon. Friend is keeping in touch with the position. He offered to call a conference, and, if necessary, to arbitrate in the matter. I understand that certain proposals are now being considered, but cannot say what are the prospects of settlement. My right hon. Friend has no powers in the matter, and it is for the local authorities to find a reasonable solution.
