§ Mr. CHURCHILLFor the financial year 1925 the new Sinking Fund was £50 millions, and for 1926 £60 millions. If the Budget deficits are deducted, the net amounts available for reduction of debt may be stated as £35,961,880 and £23,306,206, respectively. I should explain that, in accordance with the law, the Sinking Fund was paid in full in each case and the Budget deficit covered by fresh borrowing.
