HC Deb 07 December 1927 vol 211 c1373
33. Mr. GRIFFITHS

asked the Minister of Labour if he has received any communication from Abergavenny, through the Cardiff branch, that a certain firm of tailors are not paying the recognised rate prescribed by the trade board; and, if so, whether he has taken any action in the matter?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I have received a communication of the kind described, and an investigation is being made.

Mr. GRIFFITHS

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that this has been going on for a large number of years, and that it has given these tailors an advantage in competition with other tailors in the district?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I will look into it.
