HC Deb 07 December 1927 vol 211 cc1379-80
43. Sir COOPER RAWSON

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that Robert J. C. Hamilton, who served in the Royal Engineers from 9th September, 1914, to 23rd April, 1918, and was awarded a disability pension of 100 per cent, for wounds received in action, and who has for the past six years been employed in the aeronautical inspection directorate of the Air Ministry, has now received notice to terminate his appointment, owing to reduction of establishment, although the services of non-service men of similar grading are being retained; and will he inquire into this case?

Sir P. SASSOON

My right hon. Friend has already made personal inquiry into Mr. Hamilton's case and had come to the conclusion, much to his regret, that there is no alternative to dispensing with his services on reduction of establishment.
