Mr. TREVELYANasked the President of the Board of Education whether he has yet asked for and obtained the views of the trustees of the British Museum and of the trustees of the Central Library on the proposal to reconstitute the Central Library as 691 department of the British Museum; and whether he is going to make provision in the next Estimates for an interim grant to the Central Library, as proposed by the Departmental Committee on Public Libraries?
§ Lord E. PERCYI have obtained the views of the trustees of the Central Library, and I understand that the trustees of the British Museum expect to be able to acquaint me with their views very shortly. I am consulting my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer as regards the proposal for an interim grant to the Central Library.
