asked the Minister of Health if he has any estimate of the number of persons in England and Wales receiving out-door relief from the guardians at the present time or at the nearest convenient date?

On the 9th April, 1927, the total number of persons in England and Wales in receipt of Poor Law relief in their own homes (excluding casuals and persons receiving medical relief only) was approximately 989,000.
