HC Deb 26 April 1927 vol 205 c649
12. Colonel DAY

asked the Postmaster-General at what telephone exchanges in the London area it is proposed to introduce the absent subscriber service; and if he can state the number of subscribers that have used this service since its inception on the City exchange?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir William Mitchell-Thomson)

The introduction of the absent subscriber service at other exchanges will be considered in due course in the light of experience gained from the trial now in operation at the City Exchange. Approximately 40 subscribers have used the service since its inception on the 1st instant.

Colonel DAY

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the reduction of the price for the absent subscriber service?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I should like a little further experience before answering that question.
