HC Deb 14 April 1927 vol 205 cc540-1
37. Major GLYN

asked the Secretary of State for War what are the rents being charged by his Department to civilian employés working at the Royal Army Ordnance Corps depot at Didcot; what is the accommodation provided in each case; to what extent are the employés so housed subject to War Office control and supervision; and what security of tenure have they?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The rents vary according to the type of house, from 12s. 8d. a week, inclusive of rates, for one containing a living room, kitchen scullery, bathroom and three bedrooms, to 9s. a week, for one containing a living room, scullery, bathroom and two bedrooms. The tenancies, which are weekly, are subject to the control and supervision normally exercised by the landlord of a housing estate.
