HC Deb 08 April 1927 vol 204 c2427
Colonel DAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the designs for the new British Embassy buildings in Washington have now been finally approved; and, if so, what will be the approximate cost of same?

Captain KING (for The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS)

The plans have been approved, subject to any alterations which may be necessary. The approximate estimate of cost for the building is £lG5,000, but no firm figure can be given until tenders have been received.
