§ 99. Mr. HORE-BELISHAfurther asked whether the pensioner petty officers and pensioner chief petty officers who are now employed as such in naval establishments, and borne on Vote A, could be entered as supernumerary to the authorised active service establishment of the respective port divisions, and thereby, while retaining their employment, make room for promotion which would otherwise be due to active service ratings?
§ Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAMI am afraid I cannot adopt the hon. Member's proposal, which would involve bearing two petty or chief petty officers to fill one vacancy.
