§ Colonel ASHLEYThe maximum number of motor vehicle licences current during the year 1926 was about 1,730,000, and this is, perhaps, the best estimate I can give in answer to the first part of the hon. and gallant Member's question. The probable increase during the present year may be put down at about 150,000.
