HC Deb 30 November 1926 vol 200 cc1003-4
33. Mr. HANBURY

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the danger to health from cold and wet due to the insufficient protection afforded to taxicab drivers by the present inefficient glass screens, he will consider amending the Regulations so as to allow glass screens to extend from the floor to the roof in front of taxi-cab drivers, provided a mechanical squeegee cleaner is fixed to the glass in front of the taxi-cab drivers using such extended screen?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Captain Hacking)

My right hon. Friend sympathises with this suggestion, but is advised that the risks involved to the public would be too great.
