§ Sir K. WOODThe Exchequer subsidy payable in respect of schemes under the Housing Act of 1919 depends on the rate of interest payable in future by local authorities in respect of their loans, and on other variable factors, and it is not, therefore, possible to state the capitalised value of the subsidies which will be payable. The amount paid by way of lump sum grants to private builders
