asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he can state the total number of families and individual emigrants who have been assisted to settle in the Colonies and British Dominions during the current year?

Mr. AMERY

The total number of persons who have been assisted to migrate under the Empire Settlement Act during the period 1st January to 30th September, 1926, is 52,750. Included in this number are 5,500 families (consisting of 20,648 individuals) who went to Australia and New Zealand. Information as to migrant families for Canada, included in the total of 52,750 persons, has not yet been made available by the Dominion authorities.
