HC Deb 24 November 1926 vol 200 c394
40. Mr. WELLS

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he proposes to dismantle the airship R.33; and, if so, what steps will be taken to train crews for the airships under construction?

Sir S. HOARE

The answer to the first part of the question is that there is no present intention of dismantling R.33, and the second part does not, therefore, arise.

Mr. WELLS

Did the recent trials of this vessel show her to be airworthy or not?

Sir S. HOARE

The recent trials were not made with the object of proving the R.33 to be airworthy, but with the object of making certain other tests. The trials have been successful in so far as those tests are concerned.
