§ 46. Mr. TREVELYANasked the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation to prolong the operation of the Rent Restrictions Act next Session?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)I have been asked to reply. The Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions) Act, 1920, continues in force in England and Wales till 25th December, 1927, and in Scotland until the 28th May, 1928. The question whether it will be necessary to prolong the operation of the Act will be very carefully considered, but my right hon. Friend is unable at present to make any announcement on the subject.
