§ 6. Colonel DAY
asked the Under-Secretary of State for India what action is being taken with a view to carrying into effect the recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Superior Civil Service in India regarding the Indianisation of railways?
§ Earl WINTERTON
My Noble Friend in April last approved of a scheme submitted by the Railway Board for the future recruitment of superior staff for the Indian State-worked railways, with the object of giving effect as rapidly as possible to the recommendations of the Lee Commission. The companies working State railways have also agreed to adopt these recommendations.
§ Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE
Is it not the fact that all the railways in India are bringing these recommendations into effect as rapidly as possible?
