HC Deb 11 November 1926 vol 199 cc1253-4
52. Sir F. WISE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the United States of America has received any payments from Germany under the reparation payments scheme; and, if so, what is the amount?

Mr. McNEILL

Up to 31st October last, the United States had drawn for reparation 29,106,000 gold marks (about £1,455,000) under the Dawes Plan.

Sir F. WISE

May I ask whether this reduces the amount that is due to Britain and the other Allies?

Mr. McNEILL

My hon. Friend is quite capable of seeing the effect of that under the ordinary operation of the Dawes Plan.
